Fall Foliage Tour: where to stay (and eat) for the ultimate cozy retreat

Autumn is my favorite season. The leaves changing colors is about the prettiest sight I can see. If you're like me and want to spend a few days taking in the splendor, here are a few of my favorite places to do it. And if you can't visit, just go stalk the IG accounts for a bit of virtual touring.

Graybarns ( @graybarns) is so pretty. They have a great tavern on property, but I'd also suggest making the short drive up for dinner at the inn at Poundridge ( @theinnbyJG).

Foxfire Mountain House ( @foxfiremountainhouse) is a cozy dream, and you might recognize the place from a Christmas stocking shoot of ours. You can stay and dine, all in the same lovely place.

Twin Farms Vermont
I have fantasies of moving to Vermont and living the sweater life. Twin Farms ( @twinfarms) is NOT helping me let go of that idea. It's a complete dream, but also pricey (all food and drinks is included, and they have their own private mountain). The Taconic ( @taconichotel) also looks really pretty and doesn't blow the whole years travel budget. Grab a bite at the Crooked Ram ( @thecrookedramvt)!
